Kypreos Upset With Downie Punishment

With one concussion so far, the new NHL season has literally started off with a "bang."

"We're actually going to punish Steve Downie for his actions," said commissioner Gary Bettman. "Surprise!" added Bettman, with a smile on his face.

Downie will be publicly whipped with a pillow 200 times in front of the Canadian House of Commons. His concussion victim, Dean McAmmond, will be given the honour of whipping him for the first 20 times (Provided that he is able to leave his hospital bed, of course).

Not everyone is happy over the severity of the punishment.

"Back-breaking Bertuzzi wasn't even treated this badly. It's not fair for Downie. He's a good, young player," finished Kypreos.

Thankfully, there are some hockey analysts that agree with coming down hard on Downie.

"Shut your trap, Nick," shouted Jim Lang, in the Rogers Sportsnet TV studio.
