Bettman: Refs Will Fight

It is Gary Bettman's job to get people who don't care about hockey watching the NHL. He could potentially succeed with his newest plan.

"People all the way in Guatemala will be tuning into our games now," Bettman stated proudly. "Referees are allowed to fight. It's official. If a ref isn't pleased with the way a player handles a call, punches and jabs are acceptable," he said.

"Emotions should be expressed with physical violence not only by the players, but by the refs. California will finally pay attention to its three teams (Ducks, Sharks and Kings)."

When the NHL Referee Workers Union was asked to comment, a representative answered: "The Refs won't agree to this unless we're allowed to carry tasers."
