Hockey phenom John Tavares is used to getting unusually nice treatment because he's just that good at his game.
Last year, under an "exceptional-player" clause, he was allowed to play for the Oshawa Generals hockey club. He wasn't supposed to because he’s too young to play in the OHL, but apparently, his high level of skill makes him more important than the league's own rules.
To continue the trend of special treatment, the Ontario Provincial government has decided to make it legal for John Tavares to drink alcohol, even at the age of 17.
"I'm two and a half years under the drinking age but I get hammered every night with my older hockey buddies," said Tavares.
"It's cool being among older hockey players. They've taught me how to drink a lot of booze without vomiting," he said.
"I've also learned how to put a condom on because of my older team mates. I appreciate the premier, Dalton McGuinty, for giving me this privilege," he finished.
There will be a party tonight celebrating Tavares' new special status at his parents' Oakville home (His parents are away on respective business trips).
